It’s the first book collection of Bassist Wanted, my comic strip about music. It collects everything through June 2007.
For the uninitiated, the comic is about a local band, a famous band, some people who buy music and some people who sell music.
This is a whole mess of good stuff, people. It includes the first early strips that ran in alt-weeklies back in 2003, and all the non-stop bad-assery that came after.
That’s over 160 strips. And that’s awesome.
That’s because it includes:
- starved clones of Peter Cetera
- song lyrics copied from condom wrappers
- James Blunt getting punched in the face
- and more? (Yes.)
If you’ve only read the strip online, there’s a lot of detail you’re missing, folks! In the book, you’ll see every easter egg I’ve left for you in the background of the strips, from Sterolab to Michael Jackson to TV on the Radio.
There’s also a nice cover, and even some extra art at the beginning and the end. What more could you possibly want?
