The Outback song, by the by, is based on “Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games” from of Montreal’s album, The Sunlandic Twins.

The lyrics are changed from “let’s pretend we don’t exist” to “let’s go Outback tonight”, and the two phrases do seem to have a strange resonance.
