This situation was brought to mind by the recent aquisition and subsequent gutting of video game site 1up.com by UGO. (I was a big fan of their podcasts, and during my junior high years, EGM was an obsession.)

Some of the guys who got canned immediately started a new podcast, Rebel FM, and the first episode is largely about how the firing went down:
