That song is amazing, thanks for the rec! Found this on StumbleUpon.

    right on! you've nailed it.
  • Boxman
That's only the first song from one old album. Try Grass from the same album, or Who Could Win A Rabbit from Sung Tongs.

(Also, I apologize if this gets posted twice, the connection timed out during my first attempt.)
  • Oh, I've tried a lot of Animal Collective, Boxman. That's just the only song that ever really sticks with me. Most of the rest sounds like noise.

But for all of you who haven't given it a go, please, try out Sung Tongs, Feels and that newest album.

I just can't try no more.

ahaha, this is great. It is so true. On a side note, I really adore Animal Collective, but the one time I went to see them live (which I thought would be amazing)...they sucked. Just sucked.
  • That's interesting. I could imagine it going either way, Jamie.

In general, I think noise-y/studio-y bands don't translate as well live, but then again I always imagined Radiohead would be terrible live, and people tell me their shows are mind-blowing.

    Please Kill Yourself Now Faggot.
  • Will do!

What a sad unhappy name you have, Unfunny.
  • Yeah, that's my favorite tune too. Saw them once play in Brussels in an outdoors underground punk venue. Loved it. They sounded great. But yeah, since they are often noise/ambient they need good conditions for their music.

Animal collective is pretty great. At first I only liked a couple songs from Feels, but then I grew to love them. Try Merriweather Post Pavilion, any of the songs from that.

I used think they were just noisy, but i started listening to Strawberry Jam and it is a masterpiece. It is definitely an aquired taste, however.
